Hispanic Youth Scholarships Available
Since 1909, the Spanish American Institute (SAI) has been a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational assistance to Hispanic students in Southern California.
SAI/UMC Latino Youth Scholarship Program
The SAI offers yearly $1,000 scholarships to deserving United Methodist Youth who plan to attend a four-year college or university, two-year community college, or accredited technical/vocational school.

Student Eligibility
-
Must be a member of a local CalPac United Methodist Church for at least one year.

Must be in service with the local church for a minimum of one year
-
Provide a Letter of Recommendation from the Local Pastor/Youth Leader
-
Completes the SAI/UMC application process
​
The Spanish American Institute/UMC Latino Youth Scholarship application process begins every January.
The deadline to apply is April 30 , 2024.

In Partnership with the TELACU Education Foundation scholarships for $2,000 in memory of SAI Gardena Alumnus Cesar Lizárraga are also available.
